Installation Instructions (Professional Installation Recommended)

Step 1: Vehicle Preparation

• Begin by turning off your Tesla Model X and disconnecting the 12V battery, which is located in the front trunk. This crucial step helps prevent any electrical short circuits during the installation process.
• Open the front trunk and carefully remove the right-side trim panel. Use a trim tool to gently detach the plastic clips holding the panel in place. This will grant you access to the headlamp's mounting bolts.

Step 2: Old Headlamp Removal

• Locate the three 13mm mounting bolts positioned on the top and side of the old headlamp. Use a socket wrench to carefully loosen and remove these bolts.
• Next, disconnect the 4-pin electrical connector located at the back of the old headlamp. This connector is responsible for power, DRL, and signal transmission. Once disconnected, gently pull the headlamp forward, wiggling it slightly to release the retaining clips. Set the old headlamp aside.

Step 3: New Headlamp Installation

• Before installing the new headlamp, remove the protective film from its lens. Align the new headlamp (1034317-00-C) with the right headlight cavity, ensuring that the mounting holes and clips fit perfectly. You should hear a distinct "click" when the clips engage, indicating proper alignment.
• Once aligned, hand-tighten the three 13mm bolts. Be careful not to cross-thread the bolts during this process.

Step 4: Testing and Securing

• Reconnect the 12V battery and the electrical connector. Power on the vehicle and thoroughly test the low beams, high beams, DRL, and turn signals (if applicable). This step is essential to confirm that the new headlamp is functioning correctly.
• After ensuring proper functionality, use a torque wrench to tighten the bolts to 8±0.5 Nm, following Tesla's specific service specifications for the 2015 - 2019 Model X. Once the bolts are tightened, reinstall the front trunk trim panel.
